A spin-out from the Center for Artificial Hearts and Biomedical Devices, the Utah Artificial Heart Institute is a non-profit research organization and a world leader in the research and development of an artificial heart.

Founded in 2000 by Center Director Dr. Donald Olson, the Utah Artificial Heart Institute has 22 full time employees plus 10-12 part time students.
