A spin-out from the Center for Biomedical Optics, Caroderm was acquired by NuSkin/Pharmanex in March of 2006. Pharmanex acquired Caroderm's license rights to the University of Utah patented technology -- which measures the level of carotenoids in human skin. Carotenoids are antioxidants that reduce the risk of cancer and heart disease.
