About Us

UPTAC's mission is to create jobs that raise the standard of living of Utah's citizens, by enabling our statewide businesses to successfully obtain government contracts.

The Utah Procurement Technical Assistance Center (UPTAC) is part of the Governor's Office of Economic Development (GOED).  UPTAC is funded by the State of Utah and the nationwide Procurement Technical Assistance (PTA) program, which is sponsored by the Department of Defense's Defense Logistics Agency.  The PTA program was established by Congress in 1985 and exists in several states.  UPTAC opened its doors on October 15, 1985.

The purpose of the program is to assist Utah small businesses who are interested in bidding on federal, state and local government procurements and commercial contracting opportunities. This effort generates employment opportunities and improves the general economy in Utah.  UPTAC provides counseling, and training on selling products to all levels of government and private industry.

We help you determine which market is for you, and we will teach you how to compete effectively for your share of business.  If you are currently doing business with the Government, we will keep you informed on the latest changes and updates that occur.  Best of all, UPTAC is free of charge!

UPTAC can only provide assistance to Utah businesses. If your company is interested in this type of assistance and it is not a Utah business, check the listing of Procurement Technical Assistance Centers located throughout the United States.
