At the request of Governor Jon Huntsman, the Governor's Office of Economic Development has formed an action group made up of key representatives of government, the private sector, and education. this working groups was tasked with the development and implementation of a statewide, regional and national talent recruitment effort, beginning foirst in all fields of engineering and then other needed professionals.
This effort will include a national media campaign, both paid and earned, as well as attendance by the State of Utah in partnership with private industry to recruitment tradeshows nationwide. One such ad placement promoting job availability in Utah will be featured Sunday, October 28, 2007, in 14 major metropolitan areas and will be seen by an estimated 3.1 million readers.
All firms that would like to participate in the Utah Recruitment Initiative (URI) and receive resumes from GOED's marketing efforts will be required to file a participation agreement which can be found by clicking here.
"Utah enjoys the hottest economy in the nation as people and companies realize all that Utah has to offer. The Governor's Office of Economic Development is developing a critical recruiting effort for engineers and other professionals to maximize continued success," Governor Huntman said. "I would encourage all companies to be a part of this campaign to build Utah's employee base."
