IAF – Industrial Assistance Fund

Overview | Guidelines | Applications | Deadlines | Contract | Criteria | County Median

The Industrial Assistance Fund (IAF) is a job-creation incentive fund available to companies seeking relocation and expansion of operations to the State of Utah. The IAF provides grants for the creation of jobs paying higher than prevailing wages within the community. Grant disbursements are made on a post-performance basis after jobs have been created and retained. Applications for assistance are reviewed and approved by the Board of Business and Economic Development (GOED Board).

Once an incentive application has been reviewed and approved by the GOED incentives sub-committee, the following information will be considered public information:

  • Name, general description, and industry of the company
  • Number of new jobs
  • Capital Investment
  • Amount of incentive and duration
  • Average company wage
  • New state wages generated over a 10 year period
  • Projected new state revenues generated over a 10 year period

If the applicant believes that the release of its name and other specific information will adversely impact the applicant, the applicant may request that its name and other specific information be protected under GRAMA. All applications for GRAMA protection will be reviewed and approved at the discretion of the program administrator. No information provided to the State of Utah will be considered as protected unless it has been previously designated such by the program administrator.

The fund's current portfolio is assisting nearly 50 companies to create over 9000 new jobs in Utah.
