Launched in 2010, MD4 Utah was created to help catalyze, shape, coordinate and consolidate activities and programs that will make Utah a global life science epicenter. Its purpose is to provide support and infrastructure that accelerate the state’s life science sector by highlighting its industries – medical devices, diagnostics and drug development – together with its innovative research institutions, professional organizations and forward-thinking government leaders and programs.
Propelled by the support of its visionary sponsoring organizations, MD4 Utah’s mandate is to:

• Engage and mobilize industry and government leaders, investors and other sources of capital, entrepreneurs and institutions of higher learning
• Connect members of the Utah Life Science community with one another and with leading national and global individuals and organization
• Gather and disseminate relevant, industry-focused information, perspective and resources through the MD4 Newsletter and web portal, white papers, special events and active media outreach 
• Develop, curate and execute a compelling, actionable roadmap and legislation for the growth of the state’s life science industries
• Position Utah as the best place to build, move or expand a dynamic life science company

By recognizing and fostering the disruptive potential of Utah’s innovative entrepreneurs and organizations in the global life science marketplace, MD4 Utah will work to identify and highlight promising technologies, actuated by innovative business models and the establishment and expansion of value networks. Buttressed by an enlightened state legislative and regulatory environment, Utah will fulfill its potential of becoming one of the world’s most productive regions for life science innovation.
