Technology Commercialization & Innovation Program 2009-10 Licensee Grant Solicitation -  CLOSED

Proposal Due Date

COE Licensee Grant Solicitation Proposals for FY 2009-2010 for licensees or sub-licensees of university developed technology are due in the COEP office on or before Tuesday June 30, 2009 at 8am (Mountain Time).

All proposals should be submitted electronically, please see the Template for details.  There are two key documents for this solicitation.  The first is the Solicitation document which describes the guidelines and requirements for eligibility under this solicitation and is included, by reference, as part of any contract for grant award.  PLEASE BE FAMILIAR WITH THE TERMS OF THIS DOCUMENT.

The second document is the template for the proposal.  Note that the summary of the business plan can be in any preferred structure, but must include the information listed.  Please read and carefully follow the template guidelines.  The Director is not required to include in the evaluation process any proposal that does not comply with the guidelines or is incomplete.

All documents, as outlined in the template, must be received by the Technology Commercialization & Innovation Office on or before Tuesday June 30, 2009 at 8am (Mountain Time).  Any questions on submissions may be directed to Sharon Cox, COE program coordinator at (scox@utah.gov) or by phone at 801-538-8770.

Intent to Submit Notification:

If you are planning to submit a proposal, please send an email with the phrase “Intent to submit + <<name of your company>>” in the subject line to scox@utah.gov by 8am Monday June 15, 2009.  The Director may accept proposals by Licensees who do NOT submit an “intent to propose” email, however, the Director is not obligated to accept such proposals, if accepting such proposals would result in difficulty for the program in properly evaluating all proposals.  If a Licensee misses the deadline, they may send an email to scox@utah.gov requesting consideration to submit their proposal, and the Director will consider it.  Please use the phrase “Request for consideration - <<name of your company>>” in the subject line.

FAQ’s and proposal modifications

The Technology Commercialization & Innovation Program reserves the right to make modest changes to the solicitation or template documents to provide clarification or correct problems.  Such changes will be posted on the website.  In addition, answers to any Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) will also be posted under the solicitation section of the website.  Please check back regularly before the solicitation deadline.  Questions may be submitted to Sharon Cox, COE program coordinator only by email at (scox@utah.gov).
